Best FIFA 20 starter team FUT

With thousands of players to choose from we decided on our best FIFA 20 starter team by testing as many as possible. We used different leagues and formations to see what types of players made a bigger difference.

Two things stood out more than anything, the need for a top striker and a top keeper. We were creating chances but shots were not accurate enough or powerful enough.

Building your squad

Looking at the leagues and the prices a player stands out more than any other. Cavani at PSG is an 88 rated striker but yet only 20k on both consoles (launch day value). Given he is better than lots of icons stats wise this is the man you should build around early on.

As you can see other strikers that good are 300k plus so it really is a simple decision. There is no need to go wild trying to get the top players as soon as you can in FIFA but here you can have one at the start. Actually using lower rated players with him will help you improve at the game too.

Around him it makes sense to build a Ligue 1 team and their values are excellent compared to other leagues. So when you play against players who have been spending FIFA points their team won’t be so daunting to play against.

Under 50k with a top striker and a hard working team with pace. Payet has been sensational for us with his assists and goals. Scoring goals outside and inside the box. Long shot trait and flair definitely helping in FIFA 20. Wingers are very fast and tall with good dribbling. They also have the good work rates to help defence and attack. No good having lots of players who drift about watching or waiting for the ball.

Thiago Mendes, Kehrer and especially Kimpembe play like they have way higher ratings. We thought CDM might be the weakness of Ligue 1 and maybe a tank CDM on the bench would help against better players. Gueye can be bought cheaply to upgrade however and has 90 stamina, tackling and 89 interceptions. Players who are taller and strong really do stand out for us as CDM so we have Danilo Pereira on the bench who is only 2k.

Next to Cavani is a FIFA beast of various FIFAs Niang. Not actually sure if he is broken on FIFA 20 as he is supposed to have 69 composure. Yet when we fire rockets across the keeper he scores. Also seems way stronger than 70 strength. He has speed dribbling and flair so maybe they are combining with some hidden stats. What we do know is Depay as an upgrade is an absolute boss for less than 20k.

Another big benefit of this starter team in FIFA is the options available for upgrading

Spend just over 50k again and you can add Depay, Navas and Marquinhos. You then have one very solid defence and attack way better than the same value Premier League team. Depay really is a top top striker on this game especially if you know a few skills moves.
