Xbox controller for playstation ?
As people move between consoles they generally have to adjust to the new controller. In our opinion a lot of people are going to switch to FIFA on PS4 from Xbox360. Due to a lower price and Microsoft getting their launch all wrong. Having to backtrack on the features but still mystery surrounding a few. It seems Sony aimed at Gamers and Microsoft aimed at families using the console as some kind of general entertainment system. Having seen pre order sales for both PS4 is clearly in front. We have another blog – XboxOne v PS4 for FIFA to help you decide. We haven’t decided ourselves yet.
Back to controllers and although current ones on the market will not work with XboxOne or PS4 the review below is important. Because companies including these will make custom controllers for the next gen consoles XboxOne and PS4. Many people will still have Xbox360 and PS3 consoles and due to the drop in prices many people might own one for the first time over the next few months. Also the prices of the controllers will fall so the most expensive MadCatz MLG Pro might be within reach of more peoples budget. There is also the fact that FIFA14 progress on Xbox360 including Ultimate Team can be carried over onto XboxOne and likewise PS3 to PS4. Meaning there is less rush for people to buy the next gen consoles and use their existing ones longer.

Review – It feels well built and the buttons are good. The grips at first feel good but after a a few games they annoy your skin. The triggers (L2/R2 LT/RT) are smaller than xbox and more like PS3 which we don’t see the point of. Easy to set up with the usb wireless adapter PS3 found it straight away. When using on FIFA we found it nice to use apart from the triggers. No point having the sticks the same if the triggers aren’t. The major problem when using this controller was the delay. It was noticeable when playing better players and if you do skills it doesn’t react quick enough. Overall a good controller for price if using casually. However wouldn’t recommend if a serious player.

Review – The feel of this controller in the hand is amazing. Built to be a replica of the xbox controller and it is almost identical. The triggers (L2/R2 LT/RT) are are same size as xbox but they are looser so not as good. Other buttons felt good. Easy to set up with the usb wireless adapter PS3 found it straight away. When using on FIFA we found it pleasant and no different from xbox controller. The major problem again when using this controller was the delay. It was noticeable when playing better players and if you do skills it doesn’t react quick enough. Overall a good controller for price if using casually. However wouldn’t recommend if a serious player.

Review – This looks like a cheap version of the xbox controller due to the lights. These glow to a colour of your choice good for kids I suppose. However it feels good and professional. The sticks are slightly bigger than xbox which is good. The triggers (L2/R2 LT/RT) are squared off and after a long time playing feel less comfortable. However it is a very good controller and you can use the different types of grips which we think are good but not groundbreaking. The response in games is great and don’t see any delay at all. It is a wired controller which we like and has a 10ft cable! Overall this is as good as an xbox controller you are just paying quite a bit more to use one on PS3. As a serious gamer though this is one you need to think about buying. Comes with a really nice protective carrying case too.

Review – Controller looks expensive and very well designed. Having so many sticks that you can remove and put into different positions is really cool and does feel groundbreaking. Certainly impresses friends when they see it. Again in games no response issues however the controller is quite noisy. Lots of small clicks from the triggers and sticks. Maybe these go away after several months use we have only used it for a couple of weeks. Apart from being able to take the sticks out and move them around to be same layout as playstation or xbox there are also weights. Where the battery compartment is you can add no weight or 2 x 35g. We actually think it is heavy without the weights compared to the xbox controller. Overall a very impressive piece of kit but no better in performance than the ProA tournament which is cheaper.
