Here we have the latest FIFA 20 news and new features including new game mode Volta which is based on the FIFA street concept. Full video and screenshots of Volta below. Pretty cool that there will be another mode within the game but will it allow online friends mode? The feeling is that it will be another offline mode with 1 player online or potentially 2. Given that there will be maximum 5 aside it could be quite a good online game for 2 people to play online against others. However the community has already voiced their hope of allowing up to 4 online friends for Volta. Either way it could be expanded in the next FIFA if EA are going to eventually remove Pro Clubs? Unless they have put effort into Pro Clubs for FIFA 20. We will find out in July as below is their reveal timeline.

New FIFA 20 gameplay changes

Below EA Lead gameplay producer explains the changes to FIFA gameplay from the community feedback. He says AI defending is now different allowing 1 on 1 play and dribbling. Pace becomes more important when faster players are pulling away. Strength is more important, which is odd as it seems to influence FIFA 19. Lets hope it isn’t another FIFA where players like Ibarbo are simply unstoppable. Players now make more use of the space which should open up the play for better attacking. However we know EA have mentioned nerfing chained skill moves so lets hope they are still effective. Finishing was a big area they have looked at and also a new penalty and free kick system.

New FIFA 20 Volta video and screenshots

Volta has a similar feel as FIFA street did. Exciting to look at and full of skill. But FIFA street didn’t really work as a game as it didn’t flow on the pitches. We used to spam the same skills over and over knowing it would mean a goal. Without any real skill of trying to beat a player. However we haven’t played Volta yet so hopefully it will be a great new mode. Here are Volta screenshots and video showing the various locations and pitch types.
